PGA Tour - The Players Championship
Scottie Scheffler held control of the Players for the back nine on Sunday and won by five strokes. Through outstanding ball striking and touch around the greens, Scheffler made the win look easy - which given the difficulty of TPC Sawgrass is impressive. With the win, Scheffler regains the world number 1 spot from Jon Rahm who had to withdraw due to illness.
The closest competitor to Scheffler was Tyrell Hatton who torched the back nine with seven birdies and two pars making him $2.7 million in the process.
It was a tough Sunday for Min Woo Lee playing in the final group, but the T6 finish still gets the DP World Tour player closer to special temporary membership on the PGA Tour.
Asian Tour - International Series Thailand
Wade Ormsby proved victorious in a playoff over Thai player Chonlatit Chuenboonngam in Bangkok. Ormsby made a birdie on the first playoff hole to win and move to second in the order of merit behind Andy Ogletree. For Chuenboonngam, the 2nd place finish was the best of his career and puts him in a solid place to keep his Asian Tour card.
16-year-old Thai Amateur TK Chantananuwat finished T15.
DP World Tour - Magical Kenya Open
Jorge Campillo claimed the Kenya Open title by two strokes over Masahiro Kawamura. Spainโs Campillo last finish was a T4 at the Hero Indian Open at the end of February and has had six straight rounds in the 60s. The win was his first since the 2020 Qatar Masters.
Ladies European Tour - South African Women's Open
Ashleigh Buhai came in as the heavy favorite and won in commanding fashion with a 4-shot victory. The South African Buhai handled the extra pressure of winning her national open for the fourth time and moved to third on the season-long points race. Ana Pelaez Trivino finished second for the second week in a row, and Kaleigh Telfer was the next highest South African finisher at 5th.
Sunshine Tour - Mediclinic Invitational
Stefan Wears-Taylor won his first Sunshine Tour event at Centurion Country Club in Gauteng, South Africa. He shot an eight-under 64 on the final day to win by one over Jake Redman. Wears-Taylor said he had been working hard on consistency before the tournament and was pleased to be able to piece four days together.
PGA Tour of Australasia - NZ PGA Championship
Louis Dobbelaar captured his first professional victory at Gulf Harbour Country Club in New Zealand. The 21-year-old Australian, Dobbelaar shot all four rounds in the 60s and won by three shots over Sung Jin Yeo.
