Team Europe did just enough to retain the cup on European soil with a 14-point tie against the United States. As winners of the last Solheim Cup, Europe only needed a tie to keep the cup, and Spaniard Carlotta Ciganda, provided the decisive point for Europe.

It was a thrilling Sunday at Finca Cortesin for the singles matches after starting the day with the teams tied at 8 points.
The early matches provided some back-and-forth drama. Megan Khang capped off a week as the Americanโs top point scorer by defeating a tough opponent in Linn Grant. Europe countered with Solheim Cup star Leona Maguire defeating Rose Zhang, who finished winless in her first appearance.
After the U.S. victories by Angel Yin and Lilia Vu, the path for an American victory looked possible with Ally Ewing 3 up and only six holes to play against Caroline Hedwall. The match, however, took an unlikely turn when Hedwall caught fire, making four birdies and a conceded eagle on 18 to turn the match into a 2-up victory for Europe. Hedwall, a captainโs pick by Suzann Pettersen, sat out the first three sessions but provided a crucial point on Sunday, coming from behind to give the European team hope.
With Hedwallโs win and Maja Stark beating Allisen Corpuz, the Solheim Cup came down to the last two matches on the course, with Europe needing a single point to retain the Cup. In the final match, Lexi Thompson was in control over Emily Pedersen, holding a 4-up lead after 13 holes, and was able to close it out on the 17th hole. Thompson capped an impressive week, winning three points for the American side.
The penultimate match between Carlota Ciganda and Nelly Korda proved to be the difference maker. Korda battled back after being down three holes early to even the match on the 15th hole. Then Carlota Ciganda, the only Spanish player on the team, took over, hitting her approach close on 16 for a birdie to regain the lead. Then she closed the match with a dart on the par three 17th and converted the short birdie putt to win. Amidst huge roars from the European fans, the European team celebrated retaining the cup with a remarkable run by Ciganda going undefeated, winning four points.

LIV Chicago
Bryson DeChambeau won for the second time this season, following his 58 to close out the Greenbrier. Close on his heels were Marc Leishman and Crushers teammate Anirban Lahiri, both finishing tied for second, a stroke behind DeChambeau. Sebastian Munoz had a fast start, reaching 13 under after two rounds, but faltered in the final round with a 2-over-par, finishing in fourth.
LIV heads to Jeddah in three weeks and then to Miami for the team finals.
DP World Tour - Open de France
Ryo Hisatsune, the 21-year-old Japanese rookie, clinched his maiden victory on the DP World Tour at Le Golf National. Hisatsune closed out the tournament with five birdies in the final nine holes to win by two. While Tom Kim had a strong start with a 64, he settled for a tie for sixth place.
