Viktor Hovland carried over his dominant performance from last week's BMW Championship to secure a resounding victory in the Tour Championship at East Lake. Holding a six-shot lead on Sunday under the adjusted scoring system, Hovland left no room for doubt by shooting a final-round 63 to clinch the win.
Xander Schauffele put on an impressive, bogey-free 62 Sunday to finish second in the FedEx Cup standings. When accounting for the starting strokes, Schauffele actually tied with Hovland for the week at 19-under-par, a commanding seven shots clear of their nearest competitor.
Despite having an exceptional season, Scottie Scheffler had a surprisingly lackluster week. He began the tournament with a two-shot lead in the adjusted scoring, but it quickly dissipated on Thursday. For the second consecutive year, Scheffler entered the tournament leading and left without the trophy. The finish doesn't fully reflect his remarkable consistency throughout the season.
Keegan Bradley got off to a strong start on Thursday, putting himself in contention for both the tournament win and a Ryder Cup spot. Although he was tied for the lead on Friday, Bradley lost momentum and ultimately tied for ninth place. While he may still receive a captain's pick from Zach Johnson, a victory would have undoubtedly sealed his Ryder Cup spot.
Collin Morikawa was another golfer who made headlines with a hot start, shooting a 62 on Thursday to co-lead the tournament. However, he could not maintain that level of play and eventually cooled off.
The FedEx Cup's $75 million prize pool has now been finalized, with Hovland emerging as the biggest winner, pocketing a cool $18 million payday.
LPGA - CPKC Women's Open
Megan Khang secured her inaugural victory on the LPGA Tour at the Canadian Open, edging out Jin Young Ko in a playoff. Khang clinched the win on the first playoff hole by making par, capitalizing on Ko's misstep into a hazard.
Earning her first LPGA win wasn't a straightforward task for Khang. She entered the final round with a lead but slipped back with a two-over par final round. Despite the setback, Khang displayed resilience by making a critical birdie on the 18th hole in regulation, earning her a playoff spot against the world's fourth-ranked player.
This victory was particularly meaningful for Khang, as it came on her 191st start on the LPGA Tour, marking the end of a long journey towards her first win.
On the other side, Jin Young Ko mounted a commendable comeback on Sunday. She carded a solid 69 to close the gap from five shots behind, earning her place in the playoff. Though she fell short in the playoff, Ko's performance secured her sixth top-ten finish of the year, adding to an already impressive season.
DP World Tour - Czech Masters
Todd Clements claimed his first European Tour win at the Czech Masters. He won by one over Matt Wallace and a pack of Ryder Cup hopefuls. Coming up just short were Nicolai Hojgaard, Ludvig Aberg, and Bob MacIntyre, who are still building their case for a spot in Rome.
