Amidst the heavy rain on Sunday at Royal Liverpool, Brian Harman clinched his first major win at the age of 36 and six years after his last win at the 2017 Wells Fargo. Harman, known for his impressive putting, was especially sharp inside 10 feet throughout the tournament, winning dominantly by six shots.

Harman separated himself from the field on Friday with a 65 (the best of the day by two shots) to take a five-shot lead into the weekend. No player was able to get closer than three shots over the weekend as Harman played, for the most part, mistake-free golf.
Both Saturday and Sunday rounds for Harman started with two bogeys over the first five holes that left a glimmer of hope for the rest of the field. However, Harman quickly shut the door both days by steadying the ship and regaining his five-shot lead.
Tom Kim stood out among the runner-ups, having to battle a rolled ankle from earlier in the week. Kim managed to continue hitting solid shots even with the injury affecting his swing. After opening with a 74, he played the final three rounds in 10 under par (1 shot better than Harman over the last three rounds).
Matthew Jordan, a member of Royal Liverpool, also had an impressive performance. He birdied his last hole to secure a spot in the top 10, earning himself an invite back to The Open next year. The local support was strong for Jordan right from the start when he hit the opening tee shot of the tournament on Thursday morning at 6:35.
The very definition of a hero's reception for @matthew_jordan7 in the #RLGCHoylake clubhouse.
A T10 finish and countless magical memories made along the way. Truly a week to cherish. #TheOpen

Sepp Straka earned his first top-five in a major, finishing in the group at seven under. Strakaโs last two starts have now been a win at the John Deere and a second at The Open, making nearly $2.5 million in July. Not bad.
Several other golfers finished high but struggled in the final round. Cameron Young, playing in the final group, shot two over par in the final round, and Viktor Hovland also struggled to a two-over on Sunday, falling outside the top 10.
Overall, it was a dominating performance by Harman all week, particularly on the greens. Managing the stress of sleeping on the lead and battling the elements on Sunday was extremely impressive. The triumph of Brian Harman at Hoylake stands as a testament to what hard work and determination can achieve.
PGA Tour and DP World Tour - Barracuda Championship
Akshay Bhatia won his first PGA Tour event opposite The Open Championship at Tahoe Mountain Club Old Greenwood. After 72 holes, Bhatia was tied with Patrick Rodgers at 40 Stableford Points and headed to a playoff. Playing the 18th hole again, Rodgers caught an unlucky break with his tee shot finding a divot, and Bhatia capitalized, hitting his approach close and making an easy par.
While the win doesnโt get Bhatia an invite to the Masters, it does earn him full-time membership on the PGA Tour. At just 21 years old, the lanky lefty looks to have a bright future.
For Rodgers, the second-place finish breaks a string of three missed cuts since the US Open. It is his third top ten of the year but still leaves him searching for his first PGA tour win, which has been elusive since he earned tour status in 2015.
LPGA - Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational
Elizabeth Szokol and Cheyenne Knight won the team event in Michigan on the LPGA tour. Szokol & Knight combined for a tournament record eight under 62 in foursomes play in the third round to jump out ahead of the pack and then brought home a one-shot victory.
Matilda Castren and Kelly Tan finished in second with a stellar final round 63 that included eight birdies and a bogey. This is Castren and Tanโs second year in a row finishing runner-up at the event.
Korn Ferry Tour - Price Cutter Charity Championship
Pierceson Coody won for the third time on the Korn Ferry tour in Springfield, Missouri. Coodyโs twin brother Parker Coody finished in a group tied for second.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart continued his strong start on the Korn Ferry Tour with another top-10 finish.
