Rory shot 4-under on his final nine holes and capped it with a birdie-birdie finish. In the post-round interview, he described the 2-iron approach into 18 that setup the birdie as his best shot of the year. With the win, McIlroy became the first player to win the Scottish Open, the Irish Open, and The Open Championship, a remarkable achievement.
The local favorite, Robert MacIntyre, claimed second place, earning $986,000 and just one shot shy of a playoff. MacIntyre put on an amazing performance in difficult conditions to shoot 64 on Sunday in front of his home crowd. His birdie on the last hole put him in the clubhouse as the leader over McIlroy, who still had three holes to play. While ultimately finishing one behind, MacIntyre made a big jump in the European Ryder Cup standings as he looks to earn a spot in Rome.

Tom Kim and Tommy Fleetwood finished tied for sixth, playing alongside Rory McIlroy in the final group. While each struggled a bit on Sunday, a top 10 the week leading into a Major is a good sign.
David Lingmerth made a great par on 18 coming in to secure one of the final three remaining spots in the Open. It was a huge finish for the Swede, who was coming off missing the cut in 8 of his last 9 events. The other two final remaining Open Championship spots went to Ben An and Nicolai Hojgaard.
McIlroy's win sets an electrifying stage for The Open Championship next week at Royal Liverpool, where he triumphed in 2014.
PGA Tour & DP World Tour - Barbasol Championship
Vincent Norrman, a PGA Tour rookie, managed to clinch his first victory in a playoff against England's Nathan Kimsey. Norrman was consistently good throughout the week posting a pair of 66โs and 67โs, and won with a par on the first playoff hole
Kimsey, making his PGA Tour debut, shot a bogey free 64 on Sunday to get into the playoff but bogeyed the first playoff hole.
The seasoned Lucas Glover finished fifth, only two strokes behind the leaders. It was Gloverโs third straight week finishing in the top 10.
LPGA - Dana Open
Linn Grant secured her first LPGA victory and first win in the United States. Grant has won 5 times on the Ladies European Tour and looks to become a regular at the top of LPGA leaderboards.
On Saturday, Grant had the round of the week, shooting 62 with eight birdies and an eagle. The low Saturday round gave Grant a six-shot lead on the final day that was never in doubt. Grantโs win solidifies her position in the upcoming Solheim Cup in Spain.
Allisen Corpuz finished runner-up coming off her big win at Pebble Beach just last week. Corpuz fired a bogey-free 65 on Sunday to climb into second and went home with $160,000.
Korn Ferry Tour - The Ascendant
Nicholas Lindheim wins on the Korn Ferry Tour in Colorado. It was Lindheimโs first win in 2023, and he will be in the field of the PGA Tour Barracuda next week.
Korea LPGA - Evercollagen Queens Crown
Ji Young Park won at the LPGA of Korea event. She had a big lead heading into Sunday and played through rainy and windy conditions to hold on for the win.
Ladies European Tour - Aramco Team Series - London
Nelly Korda won by four shots at Centurion Club for the Aramco Team Series. For Korda, it was her first win of the year and a good turnaround for her game after two missed cuts and a T64 at the US Womenโs Open.
Charley Hull finished in second for a second week in a row and built on her US Womenโs Open momentum.
