Nick Taylor secured a dramatic victory at the Canadian Open by sinking a stunning 72-foot eagle putt on the fourth playoff hole. Taylor becomes the first Canadian to win the event since 1954.
On Saturday, Taylor shot an impressive nine-under 63, which positioned him just three shots behind the lead going into Sunday. His momentum wavered with a bogey on the 16th, but he countered with crucial birdie putts on the 17th and 18th holes, pushing him into a playoff with Tommy Fleetwood.
The home crowds were undeniably in Taylor's corner and erupted in cheers when the winning putt landed. In a heartfelt scene around the green, numerous Canadian players joined in celebrating Taylor's victory.

Adding to the excitement of the celebration was fellow Canadian Adam Hadwin (who had tied for 12th earlier) being tackled by a security guard after he rushed the green with a bottle of Champagne. Later, Hadwin shared on Twitter that all was well, humorously laughing off the incident.

Despite the playoff loss, Tommy Fleetwood enjoyed his best finish of the year. He played the weekend 13-under and seems ready for the challenge at the Los Angeles Country Club next week for the US Open.
Meanwhile, Tyrrell Hatton dazzled spectators by birdieing his last four holes and making a total of 10 birdies on the day. Despite his stellar performance Sunday, he missed the playoff by just one shot.
DP World Tour and LET - Scandinavian Mixed
Dale Whitnell claimed his first DP World Tour win at the Scandanavian Mixed. He did his best to follow up Linn Grantโs large victory last year, winning by three shots and six clear of third place.
Whitnell broke away from the rest of the field with a second-round 61 that was the best round of the day by five shots! The result was a bit unexpected given that before the Scandanavian Mixed, in three of Whitnellโs last four competitive rounds, he shot 79. Thatโs golf.
Sean Crocker did his best to make it interesting. He made two eagles in his final round, but the closest he got to Whitnell was two shots. After Whitnell bogeyed the 13th, there looked to be a chance, but Crocker couldnโt make any more birdies coming in, and Whitnell steadied the ship.
Anne van Dam and Gabriella Crowley were the two low finishers for the female competitors.
LPGA - ShopRite LPGA Classic
Ashleigh Buhai won the ShopRite Classic in New Jersey. The win is Buhaiโs second victory of the year after winning the South African Open on the Ladies European Tour in March. The South African player has established herself as one of the top players in the womenโs game after her breakthrough victory last year at The Womenโs Open Championship at Muirfield.
Buhai drove the ball well on Sunday, hitting all 14 fairways, and her closing 65 was enough to beat Hyo Joo Kim by one shot.

Japan LPGA - Ai Miyazato Suntory Ladies Open Golf Tournament
Chisato Iwai went wire-to-wire in Japan with a dominant performance and earned her second win of the year. Iwai opened with a nine-under 63 and never looked back.
Miyuu Yamashita extended her incredible streak of top 3 finishes to five tournaments. Yamashita finished in a tie for second this week with Jiyai Shin.
Korn Ferry Tour - BMW Charity Pro-Am
Adrien Dumont de Chassart won in his pro debut. He is the first PGA Tour University graduate to win and looks to make a fast track to the PGA Tour. The Belgian golfer finished his career at the University of Illinois and wasted no time in winning on the Korn Ferry Tour, beating Josh Teater in a playoff.
Korea LPGA - Celltrion Queens Masters
Min Ji Park won in a playoff over Ye Won Lee in Korea. Park made an eagle on the first playoff hole to win the event for the third consecutive year.
Japan Golf Tour - ASO IIZUKA Challenged Golf Tournament
Keita Nakajima won for the first time as a professional on the Japan Golf Tour in a playoff over Takumi Kanaya. Both players finished seven shots clear of the field in regulation to make it a two-man playoff. Nakajima made a birdie on the second playoff hole to clinch the win.
