DP World Tour - Irish Open
Vincent Norrman came from behind on Sunday to win the Irish Open. Building on his success from winning the Barbasol on the PGA Tour in July, Norrman showcased superb form on Sunday, making seven birdies over his last 12 holes to finish with a final round 65 and his second win of the year.
Hurly Long, who was leading at the 54-hole mark, couldn't sustain the momentum into the final day, posting a level par 72 in the final round with four bogeys. Yet, he secured his best finish of the year, claiming second place and taking home โฌ615,000.
The tournament also saw a tie for the third spot, shared among four players: Grant Forrest, Thriston Lawrence, Ryan Fox, and Ireland's very own Shane Lowry. Lowry had a tremendous run in front of his home crowd, earning his best finish of the year, a timely surge in form as we inch closer to the Ryder Cup. Lowryโs final round included an eagle en route to a four-under 68 that had the home crowd roaring in approval.
LPGA - Queen City Championship
Minjee Lee won the Queen City Championship with a birdie on the second playoff hole in Ohio. It wasn't all smooth sailing, though; a double bogey on the 12th hole of the final round saw her substantial lead disappear with a surging Charley Hull. Lee showcased incredible poise, recovering on her back nine and making an impressive birdie on the 18th hole to finish the tournament. For Minjee Lee, this was her second playoff appearance of the year, having previously lost to Jin Young Ko at The Founders Cup earlier this year.
Charley Hull put up an impressive fight on Sunday. A surge of four birdies on the back nine of the final round saw her roar back into contention, matching Lee at sixteen under to force the playoff. Despite falling short in the playoff, Hull's display of grit and skill throughout the championship was undeniable. Hull has been winless this year but has five runner-up finishes in 2023, with two coming in Majors.
Chinese player Ruoning Yin continued to impress, securing a third consecutive third-place finish two behind the leaders. Yin's consistency this year has been remarkable, with seven top-10 finishes and two wins.
Ally Ewing, unable to defend her title at the Queen City, still snagged fourth place with a final round six-under 66.
Japan LPGA Championship Konica Minolta Cup
Sora Kamiya earned a one-shot victory over Sakura Koiwai at Passage Kinkai Island Golf Club. The final round 68 was enough to earn the 20-year-old tour rookie her second win of the year. Miyuu Yamashita and Mao Saigo shared third place, both finishing four shots behind the winner.
Asian Tour & Japan Golf Tour - Shinhan Donghae Open
Guntaek Koh emerged victorious with a birdie on the first playoff hole to clinch the Shinhan Dongahe Open. Despite a double bogey in the final round, Koh maintained his consistency throughout the week with 24 birdies, an eagle, and all four rounds in the sixties. Chasing closely, Phachara Khongwatmai had a superb bogey-free 63 in the final round, catching up with Koh to force the playoff.
Korea LPGA - KB Financial Group STAR Championship
Ji Young Park was the only player under par for the tournament to capture the victory at the difficult Blackstone Icheon course. It was the second win of the year for Park after winning the Evercollagen Queens Crown in July.
Ladies European Tour - Big Green Egg Open
Trichat Cheenglab won for the first time on the Ladies European Tour. Her final round 67 was enough to win by one at Hilversumsche Golf Club in the Netherlands.
