Hometown favorite Hideki Matsuyama will also be looking to contend in his native Japan. He won the event in 2021 and will make his first start since August, when he exited early from the PGA Tour playoffs. Matsuyama has had an up-and-down year this year - He is without a win and has only two top-ten finishes but did manage to make the cut in all four majors.
Other top players teeing it up include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, and Rickie Fowler, all making their first start since the Ryder Cup.
DP World Tour - Andalucía Masters
The European Tour stays in Spain for another week with the Andalucia Masters at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.
Adrian Otaegui won the event last year by six shots and returns this year to defend his title. The other top Spaniard in the field this week is Pablo Larrazabal, who is coming off a tie for 20th at the Spanish Open last week.
PGA Tour player Wyndham Clark extends his European stay after the Ryder Cup and will be the top player in the field this week.
LPGA - BMW Ladies Championship
The LPGA continues its Asian swing with a stop in South Korea for the BMW Ladies Championship. This premier event features a top-notch field with nearly all the top women playing.
The last two winners of the event were Lydia Ko and Jin Young Ko.
Since her win last year, Lydia Ko has struggled to maintain the consistent form she saw in 2022. Her last finish inside the top 10 was in May on the Ladies European Tour and in February on the LPGA tour.
Jin Young Ko is making just her third start since the Open Championship in August, but she has shown good form with second-place finishes in both those starts. She is the highest-ranked Korean player in the field and will look to add her third win of 2023.
LIV Miami
The LIV golf season’s last event of the year is at Trump National Doral where a team champion will be crowned.
The tournament has two days of head-to-head team matchups between the 12 teams that will narrowed down to the top 4 teams on Sunday. The Sunday format changes to a stroke play round where all the player’s scores count for their team, and the low team score wins the $14 million team prize.
While only the four teams who advance from the match play will be able to win the top spot on Sunday, all 48 LIV golfers will be playing with the other teams competing for spots 5 through 12.
Last year, Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces took the team title last year, and they head into the final with the number one seed after topping the regular season points.
