Evian Championship

The town of Évian-les-Bains, nestled in France's Haute-Savoie region, is again playing host to the Evian Championship. Held at the Evian Resort Golf Club, the tournament forms a key part of the Ladies European Tour and LPGA schedules, marking its 10th edition since gaining Major status.

The field for the event is stacked. The only player inside the top 40 in the world rankings who won’t be in France is Lexi Thompson.

World number one Jin Young Ko comes off a missed cut in her last major showing at the US Women’s Open. Ko has two wins on the year, but her best result in a major has been a tie for ninth at the Chevron. She has two more chances with the Evian this week, and The Women’s Open in August to solidify her status atop the women’s game with a good finish at a major. Look for her to show up big this week.

World number two, Nelly Korda, is also looking to turn around her major performances this year. Korda comes off a T64 and a missed cut at the US Women’s Open and Women’s PGA Championship. Korda did win in her last start in London, an Aramco Team Series event over 54 holes. The win puts to rest concerns about a back injury earlier in the year and should bode well for The Evian this week.

Defending champion Brooke Henderson, who stands at 12th in the world, has been struggling recently. She won at the LPGA season opener in January but has failed to crack the top 10 in any of the 14 events since. The Canadian golfer won last year's Evian Championship at 17 under par and will no doubt be aiming to recreate that success.

Ruoning Yin and Allisen Corpuz, ranked fifth and sixth, respectively, have been on an upward trajectory, with Corpuz securing her first major at the U.S. Women's Open and Yin claiming hers at the Women's PGA Championship. The third major winner of the year, Lilia Vu, has seen mixed results since her win at the Chevron Championship. Vu is coming off two missed cuts at the last two majors and looks to turn things around in Europe.

PGA Tour - 3M Open

The PGA Tour heads to Minnesota for the 3M Open taking place at the TPC Twin Cities. The tournament sees a weaker field than most following The Open Championship and provides final chances for players to position themselves for the playoffs in two weeks.

Headlining the field this year is Cameron Young, who is 15th in the world and recently finished T8 at The Open. Young's promising performances in recent tournaments, notably a T6 finish at the John Deere Classic, make him a player worth tracking this week as he seeks his first win on tour.

Last year's champion, Tony Finau, returns to the scene to defend his title. Finau, who's been relatively silent recently with a missed cut at The Open and a T45 at the Travelers Championship, will be seeking to revitalize his form from last year.

Justin Thomas, made a strategic move to help his playoff and Ryder Cup chances by adding the 3M Open to his calendar. Thomas currently sits at 75th in the FedEx Cup standings and needs to move inside the top 70 to get into the first playoff event. With Harman’s win at the Open and taking a Ryder Cup spot off the table, Thomas will need to show some form to get a pick for Rome.

Sepp Straka, currently 25th in the world, might be the player with the most momentum in the field this week. Straka's recent win at the John Deere and second at The Open makes him a good pick for continuing success at the 3M Open.
