PGA Tour & DP World Tour - Scottish Open
This week the first of two co-sanctioned events between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour takes place in North Berwick at The Renaissance Club. While not a designated event, the field is strong, as the tournament serves as prep work for next weekโs Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. The field, however, misses out on world number two, Jon Rahm, whose notable absence might serve as a window of opportunity for others.
The defending champion, Xander Schauffele, triumphed over Kurt Kitayama and Tom Kim last year. Schauffele enters this tournament fresh from a top-20 finish at the Travelers Championship.
World number one, Scottie Scheffler, is riding a wave of recent strong performances, including a tied fourth finish at the Travelers Championship and a third-place finish at the US Open. It feels like the only thing missing this season for Scottie is a major championship, so maybe he should wait for next week to win.
PGA Tour & DP World Tour - Barbasol Championship
The Barbasol Championship, an opposite field event to the Scottish Open, takes place this week at the Keene Trace Golf Club's Champions Course in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Trey Mullinax who clinched the championship last year at 25 under par, will be absent this year. Lucas Glover and Taylor Pendrith who have shown strong recent performances, are among the top players to watch.
Korn Ferry Tour - The Ascendant
Korn Ferry Tour hosts its 17th event of the season in Berthoud, Colorado, at TPC Colorado. The course is over 8,000 yards this week, with the par five 13th hole measuring 773 yards ๐ณ. Work on the speed training kids!
LPGA - Dana Open
LPGA heads to Ohio as some of the top female golfers are teeing it up at Highland Meadows Golf Club for this week's Dana Open. Allisen Corpuz, the recent U.S. Open victor, is in the field with a new best Rolex world rank of six.
Last year's Dana Open champion, Gaby Lopez, hasnโt had the best season, with only one top-10 finish over 13 events. She will try to leverage her title defense to reset her game.
Ladies European Tour - Aramco Team Series - London
Ladies European Tour heads to the Centurion Club outside London, just a week after hosting the LIV London event. Nelly Korda and Leona Maguire lead the field for the Aramco Team series event that features a 54-hole stroke play individual component along with two days of team scoring.
Nelly Korda is looking to get back on track after recent underwhelming performances, while Leona Maguire is looking to continue her strong run after a win at the Meijer LPGA Classic. However, the spotlight also shines on local favorites such as Georgia Hall and Charley Hull, with the latter fresh off her excellent tie for second at the U.S. Women's Open.
