International Team Match Play, PGA Tour Designated event, Ryder Cup course preview
Top 100 preview
Many of the top men are active, with 56 of the top 100 teeing it up at the Wells Fargo designated event.
The top ladies are playing at the International Crown, while those on the LPGA tour who didnโt qualify for one of the eight teams are off this week.

LPGA - International Crown
The LPGA heads to Harding Park in San Francisco to host the first International Crown event since 2018. The event features an exciting format with 8 countries fielding teams of 4 players competing in match play across four days.
Thursday through Saturday will be fourball matches, with 5 of the 8 teams advancing to Sunday Singles. The team accumulating the most points between the fourball and singles matches will be crowned on Sunday.
South Korea, led by Jin-Young Ko, looks to defend its 2018 International Crown title.
Team England is short their top 2 players after late withdrawals from Georgia Hall and Charley Hull.
Team USA offers the strongest four players, with world number 1, Nelly Korda, leading the way.
PGA Tour - Wells Fargo Championship
Another designated event with a $20 million purse up for grabs is being played at Quail Hollow.
World numbers 1 & 2, Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are using their one designated skip to sit this week out. Rahm and Scheffler have combined to win 5 of the first 8 designated events - nice of them to give everyone a chance to win one.
Watch out for the closing three holes at Quail Hollow - โThe Green Mileโ is the toughest finishing stretch on tour, playing almost a stroke over par on average over the past 5 years.
Rory McIlory is headlining the field with his first start since the missed cut at the Masters.
Tony Finau is coming off a win at the Mexico Open and last year won back-to-back events in 2022 at the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic.
DP World Tour - Italian Open
The DP World Tour heads to Marco Simone in Italy. Marco Simone Golf Club is the site for the Ryder Cup at the end of September, and this event will provide an early look at how the course will play.
Some European hopefuls for the Ryder Cup team in the field: Yannik Paul (currently 3rd in the European points), Victor Perez (4th), Jorge Campillo (5th), and Adrian Otaegui (8th).
Asian Tour - Maekyung Open
The Asian Tour is in South Korea at Namseoul Country Club. The Maekyung Open is the Asian tourโs only event for May.
The field is topped by Sadom Kaewkanjana, and defending champion, Bio Kim.
Japan LPGA - World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup
The first of 4 major championships on the LPGA of Japan Tour is at Ibaraki Golf Club. The tournament features a strong field with some of the highest ranked Japanese and Korean players outside of the International Crown competitors.
Korea LPGA - Kyochon 1991 Ladies Open
The 5th event of the Korea LPGA season is at Asiad Country Club in Busan South Korea.
PGA TOUR Latinoamรฉrica - KIA Open
Latin America tour heads to Quito, Ecuador for the KIA Open.
Sunshine Tour - FBC Zim Open
The Zimbabwe Open is held at Royal Harare Golf Club and kicks off a new 2023-2024 Sunshine Tour season.
PGA Tour of Australasia - PNG Open
The first 2023-2024 season event is the Papua New Guinea Open at Royal Port Moresby Golf Club. It is the first time since 2019 the event is able to be held.
